Canada FAQ's!

GENERAL
Shelf Reliance Canada NFR FAQ
Q: When will Shelf Reliance Canada NFR be open?
A: The official launch date is scheduled for December 1st. However, we will begin taking pre- launch orders on November 25th.
Q: What does NFR mean?
A: NFR stands for “not for resale.” Therefore, the NFR policy means that any Shelf Reliance products shipped from US to Canada cannot be resold. This program is designed for personal use only.
Q: Does Shelf Reliance Canada have its own NFR website?
A: Yes. You can access Shelf Reliance Canada at www.canada.shelfreliance.com
Q: If I have a question how can I reach customer service?
A: Questions will be directed to our corporate headquarters in American Fork, Utah. If you have a question please contact customer service at (801) 756-9902, fax at (801) 492-3978, email queries to support@shelfreliance.com, or utilize online chat from our website.
BUSINESS MODEL FOR HOME PARTIES
Q: How can I order Shelf Reliance products?
A: Products can be ordered through the Shelf Reliance Canada website www.canada.shelfreliance.com or through a consultant webpage.
Q: How do individuals register to become consultants?
A: Registration is done online through the consultant URL or the above website.
Q: Can Canadian residents become Shelf Reliance consultants?
A: Yes. Canadians can now sign up to be consultants, and they will receive all the same benefits as consultants in the United States.
Q: Can Canadian consultants only sign up Canadian residents for the home party program?
A: No. Shelf Reliance consultants from the United States and Canada can sign up individuals who reside in either of the two countries. This open-border policy will allow consultants to expand their business on an international scale.

Q: How will Canadian Consultants be paid?
A: Consultants will be paid with a monthly commission check that will be in US currency. The exchange rate for commission checks is based on the daily rate at the time when the check is cashed. Direct Deposit will not be an option at this time.
Q: Will Canadian consultants have access to all the current home party tools?
A: Canadian consultants will have access to most of Shelf Reliance marketing materials and online tools. You can find the pack on the Canadian Price List. However, the Shelf Reliance product catalog will not be available in Canada. Local sales tax will also be charged if applicable.
Q: Will Canadians be required to have a personal Q to receive commissions?
A: Yes, Canadians will have the exact same requirements for commissions as the US.
Q: Will Canadian consultants have access to the Shelf Reliance Business Kit?
A: Yes. Canadian consultants can purchase the Shelf Reliance Business Kit for $199.00. Shipping will be an additional $27. Local tax will also be charged if applicable.
Kit contents include the following: CONSULTANT TOOLS
 Sample Cups (50)
 Apron (1)

PRODUCTS AND PRICING
Q: What THRIVE products will be available?
A: Most of the THRIVE products sold in the US will be available through NFR. Dairy and Meat product won’t be available when we start.
Q: How much Shelf Reliance product can I purchase at a time?
A: Shelf Reliance will be functioning as a NFR company in Canada, which means that customers will only be able to order a maximum of 30 cans per order.
Q: Can I mix #10 and pantry cans in a single order A: Yes
Q: Is there a limit to the number of individual products I can have in each order?
A: Yes, once we begin offering dairy and meats, you will be limited to one can of these items per shipment.
Q: Is there a limit on the number of cans for my host benefit order?
A: No, this is considered a benefit rather than a personal purchase. There is no limit at this time. However, orders with product over 30 cans will need to be faxed into the company for processing.
Q: What THRIVE, FRS, and emergency products will be available through Shelf Reliance Canada?
A: At this time THRIVE will be available in #10 cans and pantry cans. Unfortunately, at this time FRS and emergency products will not be available through Shelf Reliance Canada. The reason for this is the extremely high duties and taxes assessed for these products.
Q: How can I find out what products are available?
A: Available products will be recorded on the Canada price list which you can find in your back office.
Q: How will the Shelf Reliance products be labeled?
A: All Shelf Reliance products will be labeled based on US regulations.
Q: Will Canadian pricing be the same as US pricing?
A: Yes. All pricing will remain the same and will be in US dollars.
Q: Is Home Party pricing the lowest pricing in Canada?
A: Yes. If you ever come across a retailer selling the product at a lower price, you are able to match it. You will just need to send a fax to the home office to process that order. However, this should not happen because retailers have a set price higher than the home party pricing.

SHIPPING, RETURNS, AND BACKORDERS
Q: How will I receive my Shelf Reliance order?
A: Various shipping companies may be used depending on where you live.
Q: What if I am unsatisfied with my purchase?
A: We strive to ensure that all of our customers are pleased with their purchase. If you are unsatisfied with any Shelf Reliance product purchased in Canada, you may return the product within thirty days from the date of purchase to our home office. You are responsible for the shipping fees to return the product.
Q: What if the products I ordered are on back order?
A: The process for back orders in Canada will remain the same as in the United States. Back ordered items will be shipped to you as soon as the products are in stock.* You will not be required to pay any additional shipping fees for back ordered items.
*If you have more than one item on back order, the back ordered items will not be sent until all back ordered items have arrived.
Q: Will I be charged additional duties or taxes?
A: Shelf Reliance does not control the rates assessed at the border. There is always a chance that you will be charged additional taxes and duties, especially if you purchase multiples of the same item in a package. Local sales tax will be charged at the time of purchase if applicable.
Q: Can we ship product to border towns and bring product across the border on our own?
A: No, this is against our company policy. This will cause termination of your consultant opportunity because of the risk it puts our company in.
Q: What are shipping rates for Canadians? A: Shipping rates are as follows:
#10 cans = $4.00 each
Pantry cans = $2.00 each
There is a $20 minimum shipping charge for all orders
Q: How long will it take to receive an order once it is purchased? A: 7 – 10 Business Days

Web Anaytic Tool Guide

Visits:
Analytic Tool User Guide
 What is a visit?
A visit is classified as the following:
1) A visitor comes to your website for the first time
2) A visitor visits a page (or downloads a file) more than 30 minutes after his/her last page view
 What is the time period for the statistics shown in this chart? This chart shows the traffic to your website within the last 30 days.
Referring Sites:
 What is a referring site?
Other websites that refer or send visitors to your website are called referring sites. This table is a snapshot of where your traffic is coming from.
 What is the time period for the statistics shown in this table?
This table shows the referring sites to your website within the last 30 days.
 Why is it important to know what my referring sites are?
Knowing where your traffic is coming from is an easy way to increase your return on investment (ROI). You can focus more resources on sites that are referring more traffic, or re-evaluate your campaigns on sites that are not driving much traffic.
 Why are other consultant websites or websites that I don’t advertise with listed as my referring sites? These statistics are not 100% accurate and it can never be. This could happen due to many reasons. For an example, cookies placed on someone’s web browser or a web crawler who is going from one site to another could make a website look like a referring site.
Pages Viewed:
 What does it mean by pages viewed?
The amount of times visitors arrive on individual pages of your website. If a user reloads a page, that action will be counted as an additional page view. If a visitor navigates to a different page and then returns to the original page, a second page view will be recorded as well.
 What is the time period for the statistics shown in this table?
This table shows the number of page views by your visitors within the last 30 days.
 Why is it important to know what the pages viewed by my visitors are?
Page views allow you to see which pages on your site are the most popular. This will help you to determine where on your website you should communicate the most important information.

Sandy Expo Opportunity

Shelf Reliance Event Opportunity
What a Woman Wants Show
September 23-24,  2011
South Towne Expo Center
Sandy, UT

Shelf Reliance has purchased a booth at this event and is offering shifts to any consultants interested! We fill shifts on a first come, first serve basis.
Shelf Reliance will be providing plenty of samples, sample cups, and some literature to hand out at the event. We recommend you at least bring a business card or sticky label to attach to items that you hand out.
We will be charging $50 per day. Please emailevents@shelfreliance.com by Wednesday, September 14th with your preferred shifts. There will be a maximum of three consultants per shift. The sooner you email us, the more likely you will get a shift or possibly more shifts. We involve as many consultants as possible and then go back through the list to add more shifts. This is a great opportunity to take orders and get leads! On September 15th you will be notified by email which shift(s) we were able to schedule you for.
More information about the event can be found at: http://www.whatawomanwantsshow.com/details.php
We recommend now for all events that you obtain a food handler’s permit. Please bring this certificate to the event. They are only $21(depends on County) and really simple to do online. A food handler’s permit is a good idea for any public event that you hand out samples at. We would recommend getting the permit for the County you live in.

Shift 2: 1:30-4:30pm
Shift 3: 4:30-8pm

updates on price list Sept 9, 2011

The Home Party price list will have a slight update posted sometime today:

Apple Chip, Pear, Potato Bead, Whole Wheat Flour, Instant Rice, Ham Dices, Bacon TVP, and Sausage TVP have had the pouches removed. The production on these items is not definite, so they have been removed until further notice.

The New Drinks on the Case page had the wrong ID numbers (they do not follow the same pattern as other items #'s do).

The Fruit Sample Pack (#10 Cans) #26910 price has been lowered to $268.19 Retail, $236.09 Q-Club. This package contains 9 cans of food as listed on the product page. The picture shows 14 cans, which is incorrect.

The Premium Meats Essentials Pack #25344 has been discontinued.

Any further price list updates such as new products or discontinued items will be put onto an additional Price List Addendum sheet if that occurs during the Fall season.

Update on Free Sample Lead Generation

We are sorry for the confusion and we appreciate you communicating your concerns so we can make this a better program for our consultants. The New Lead Generation Program is an effort from the Shelf Reliance corporate office to help our consultants generate more leads. When we receive information from a new lead we will assign the lead to an active consultant within the same geographic area. However, the consultants aren’t obligated to contact the lead or to provide a sample. If you aren’t interested in the new lead that has been assigned to you, please inform us by responding to the email you received. If we didn’t hear back from you within 3 days, the new lead will be automatically assigned to another qualified consultant. To provide a THRIVE sample, you may invite the new lead to a party or coordinate a party to be hosted by the new lead. We have reworded the emails that are being sent to our consultants as well as new leads in order to communicate this information effectively.

Open House part 1 and 2, Recording

update from SR open house 08/31/11

Chad and I attended the Open House last night at Shelf Reliance.

Beautiful kitchen area, beautiful reception, just beautiful everything!
A little side note- Jason Budge designed everything! I was really impressed. I guess they said he practically lived at the new building overseeing the project.and it shows!
If you are a gold or platinum, your picture is up on the wall in the conference room!
It was very exciting to see a large number of our teammates there! Great job!

A couple of neat things to share:

1) we have a 5 day sale starting today. A new price list will go up today in our back office. Everything will be discounted another 5% off sale price. That goes for Web pricing as well as Q club pricing. Great time to encourage someone to start a Q, put all the sale items in there and get more for their money this month by shipping out the Q within these 5 days of sales.

2) our new products are wonderful. There is a jpg and pdf file of the new products on the back office.
Our new drinks replace the old ones. They taste different. No colors, artificial flavor or preservatives in these. We also now carry a sports drink that will replace your electrolytes. There are many, many flavor and they taste great. Shelf Reliance will continue to sell the previous 3 drinks we carried (peach, orange and apple) until supply runs out.

3) NEW under the bed storage rack. It is the same depth and width as a Harvest but with only 1 Track/Row of cans. It will hold small or pantry cans. We don't know how many cans that it, I didn't count but it should be a wonderful space saver. These may or may not be on the new price list. I'm not sure. They are sort of a proto-type.

4) NEW also our cabinet doors that fit around your Harvests. They look like beautiful pantry doors. They are white and have simple hardware and decor on the outside. Very nice for a kitchen or even bedroom space. A great way to disguise your Harvest in plain site. They weren't on the list of new products. So I think those will come later.

5) If you are coming into town and would like to use the new kitchen, call the regular SR number and press #1 to talk to the receptionist and schedule a time. You have to schedule 72 in advance. If you use the facility during business hours, 9am - 5pm, then the use of the space is free. If you schedule before or after business hours then it is $20 to schedule. You can have your "cooking show" or "training" live streamed and recorded. It will cost an extra $20 to do this. But you can send it live to anyone on your team or customers, family or friends. SR will give you a live streaming address link that everyone can click on and see you! If you are far away and you have a team member close-by, have them use the facility and give a training for everyone else on the team! So this isn't just for those in Utah. YOU can benefit too!

The lighting is really good there! You may also schedule a live party there as well. Bring your own cooking items and appliances until the kitchen gets stocked.

4) There are also conference rooms, lounge kind of area and computers available for you to use and  talk with potential consultants or bring customers in. It is very well done and comfortable in there! These are free but do call ahead and schedule the use of conference rooms.

5) We had a great guest chef, Kim, give us a cooking demo last night. She made a smoothie and also showed us a great recipe for Quinoa. Those recipes will be available online at some point for everyone to try. It was wonderful. Some tips on Quinoa: SR's is prewashed. No need to wash ahead of time. You can make Quinoa in the rice cooker. This is a time saver for parties. Quinoa is a complete protein! It is a wonderful and healthy main protein replacement! It is perfect for the vegan, vegetarian or Gluten Free Diet. Cook it like rice, 2 to 1. And use chicken broth instead of water for added flavor. Bring to a boil them simmer on med-low for 20 minutes until the Quinoa is cooked through and the extra water is gone.

6) Lastly, we have over 4000 consultants now! Can you believe it?! I wish I knew who and where everyone was. That is really exciting! We really need some more Silver, Gold and Platinum execs up on our wall. So if you're out there and needing something to reach for...we want your picture on the wall!

Remember, our sales from today until 5 pm MST all count for August. So if you are "almost" there for hitting a rank, sell yourself silly on this new super sale TODAY! It will make a difference for you!

Thanks.
Rachel

PS I will be posting some pictures from last night on my blog later: www.shelfreliancesisters.com.

What's better than a Canadian Wunderbar?

These 2 amazing people! We are really excited to be working with Sandy and Wade in Canada. They are the business owners of "incaseof.com." They've been Shelf Reliance's official distributors for over 3 years and have a lot of experience. We are thrilled to be working with them.

Update on Canada so far:

We are still waiting on Canada officials to approve some last minute changes to then make Canada official in selling Shelf Reliance products! It should be "any time" now we are told!

We can't wait for it to open and see what happens there!

If you are interested in signing up as a consultant and you live in Canada, you can still sign up at www.shelfreliance.com/parties. You will be given your consultant number right away.

Once we are open in Canada, only a few provinces will be open at a time. But all should follow suit quickly after. Once we have some open provinces, any consultant can start selling to any open province.

Email us if you have questions. Canada at thrivecrew dot com.

Setting up Q's at the beginning or end of the month

You may or may not have noticed that Q's cannot be set-up on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of any month. This is because of months like February that only go until the 28th and the many months that do not have a 31st. If our system allowed Q set-ups on those dates, then a Q would be skipped altogether on a month that did not have that date. We alsorecommend that Q's not be set-up for the first of the month because our system does not change to the new month until the evening of the first. This may cause issues with Q requirements for commission. We appreciate your patience with our system quirks! If you have any questions, please call our customer service for further explanation.

Missing Emails?

Consultants, we would like to know if you are not getting the Call Reminders, Call Notes, Q-Pon, Newsletter, etc. and if you should be. Please email adrianne@shelfreliance.com if you are experiencing this issue. Be specific about which emails you are receiving, if any, and which email address they should be going to. We are trying to get this issue resolved.
Q-Pon email goes out the beginning of each month. Call Reminders go out Monday of every week. Call Notes are usually every week as well (although it has been sparse the last month). We have sent emails about our new Buckets & Products, about our move, etc.

Update information on the Q

When cases, 6 packs, or items that are more than your budget come up on a Q shipment, it will increase the budget. The Q tries to put a case in a shipment and will increase the shipment's budget to do so and will notify you. If the Q only has cases to choose from, the Q budget can go way over.
The Optimize option makes it so that the tax and shipping charges can be factored into shipment budgets. The Optimize option re-shuffles the shipments and changes what you had set the shipments up as. So after starting a Q, you will need to customize the shipments yourself or else un-check this option. The Optimize option will change shipments that you have customized.

How Host Benefits Work

Host Benefits
1. How do host benefits work?
a. Host Benefits are described on our website at
http://www.shelfreliance.com/parties/index/hostbenefits

2. What is a Double--Dip?
a. The Double--Dip is an incentive for customers who place an order at a party they attend rather than waiting to host their
own party and placing their order at a later date. A customer
who orders at a party and then later becomes a host for a second
party will be able to apply their original order to the sales
total of the party they host. In this way a customer is able to Double--Dip by ordering at a party and then later receiving
host benefits on that order if they decide to host their own
party.

3. If a host has placed multiple orders, which one do they get
a double dip on?
a. All of the orders placed from the party they book a party from.

4. How do I collect host benefits on orders that did not come through any particular party?
a. All orders can be tied to a party – if you have orders that are
not tied to a party the consultant should create an event on their
Dashboard, the consultant can be the host of the party if they
would like. These untied orders can then be tied to that party.

5. If a host places a onetime order and gets on the Q at the
same party, do they get a double dip for both the order and the
Q?
a. Yes

6. If a customer from my party decides to host a party with a different consultant does she still get the double dip from the
order she placed at my party?
a. Yes

7. If a customer from a party decides to host a party with a different consultant does my host still get the host half off
reward for her party?
a. Yes

8. How much time do I have to process host benefits after a party?
a. 3 months from the date of the party

9. When I sign up a consultant that didn’t already have a Q what
should I do and what benefits do I get?
a. A new consultant should have a Q set up as soon as possible.
The sponsoring consultant will receive a $50 recruitment bonus
that month and they will receive the regular Q commission. Tie
the Q to one of your parties for host benefits.

10. Can you combine the free and half off benefit?
a. No, no items can be split between the free and half off benefit. E.g. if a host orders several cans of strawberries they
must either be placed under free or half off they cannot be placed
under both benefits.

11. Can I use my “free” host benefit to order consultant
materials?
a. Yes, Host Benefits can be used to purchase materials, however,
the price will be calculated off of full retail price rather than Home Party Price. In order to make this transaction useful there
must be enough accumulated free benefit to discount the items
from retail to something less than Home Party pricing.

12. What information is provided to a host when I set up a party?
a. An email explaining the benefits will be sent. (see on consultant materials) Consultant needs to send anything else to
prepare them.

13. Do we charge taxes and shipping on host benefits?
a. Taxes are charged on what is SPENT, shipping is charged on what
is SHIPPED

14. How can I help a hostess buy their consultant kit with host
benefits when the application is done online?
a. As with other items the starter kits have a catalog ID number that can be entered into the online form. You will place this order, they you will need to fill out a manual application form
and fax it into customer service. It is important to remember
that Host Benefits are calculated off of full retail price.
Unless the host has accumulated enough free benefit the starter
kits may be more expensive to purchase through Host Benefits rather than at Home Party pricing.

15. What happens if someone decides to host a party, we give the
first hostess benefits and then the party falls through? Do we take those benefits back or do we not give host benefits until the new party has been done?
a. We don’t take them back at this time. If it becomes a common occurrence, we will begin to take them back.

16. What if a customer wants to order more than their host benefit
is awarding them?
a. There is a section on the Host Benefit Order Form to purchase
additional products at party price.

17. What price do we use when filling out host benefits?
a. Use the full retail price as found on the Home Party Price Sheet.

18. Can I use host benefit orders towards double dip?
a. No.

19. Can a new consultant get a double dip from their own Q?
a. yes

20. Does the purchase of the starter kit go toward host benefits if the consultant signs up from a party?
a. No

21. Can a new consultant double dip off of the purchase of a
starter kit?
a. No
